- This is not your average kickball -
What is it?
Yes, there are kickball leagues that try to combine both kickball and beer,
but they fail miserably. Beer Kickball brings beer and kickball together the
way they were meant to be. Why be forced to stop drinking your cold one when
you go to take the field or are up to bat?
In Beer Kickball, drinking is promoted on and off the playing field. The beer-in-hand rule is what separates Beer Kickball from all the other poser kickball leagues. It also brings a whole new element to the game, as fielding, batting, and base running suddenly become more of a challenge.
Oh, and whatever you do... don't drop that beer!

Latest News/Announcements
May 30th - Beer kickball... this Saturday... be there!
May 6th -
Thanks
to everyone who came out for Cinco De Mayo ball yesterday! Thanks also to
our officiating crew, Robencio and Williamence (pictured right), for providing
us with solid, unbiased officiating. When you get a chance, please post
your comments from the game. We'll try and get a few more pictures up
on the site shortly.
May 3rd - Game is on for this Saturday at 3pm. The post-game
destination will be Las Margaritas (near Piedmont and Cheshire bridge - directions
are in the "Calendar"). For those who can't make the game, meet us out afterwards
for dinner/margartas! We'll shoot for 6:30pm.
April 3rd - Ok, just checked and it looks like Cinco De
Mayo actually falls on a Saturday this year... which means Cinco De Mayo kickball!!!
This will be a fully-themed Mexican event - Mexican beer, maybe some team
pinatas, etc. And let's not forget those post-game margaritas!
April
1st - Thanks to everyone who made it out for Opening
Day! It was definitely a lot of fun. And a special shout out to John Nickerson
who took time out to come DJ for us - he did an excellent job. Jeff Cobb
was by far the best dressed! Here's a picture of this "Guitar Hero" following
his unsuccessful slide into home (I don't think dry cleaning will get those
stains out). Don't forget to post your comments from the game!
Mar 27th - Just got a DJ locked down for the game this
weekend! For those of you who know John Nickerson, he'll be bringing his own
equipment and providing the game-time music.
Mar 25th - Alright, we are on for the season opener next
weekend! The game will be at 3pm on Saturday, leaving more than
enough time to play and be back for the Final Four at 6. Lets get a huge turnout.
Remember, costume's are optional, but recommended!
Here's a short video "teaser" for
the upcoming game:
Mar 25th - Yesterday's "Spring Training" games were a
lot of fun. I think we got rid of most of the cobwebs. Thanks to everyone
who came out. If you have a chance be sure and post a
game comment/summary.
Mar 23rd - Ok, we are on for kickball tomorrow! We'll
play at 5pm at the Northside fields.
Mar 21st - So the weather for this upcoming weekend looks
really good... sunny and 85 on Saturday. It's short notice, but we may see
if there is any interest in getting a group together to play. If so, we'll
send out an email (or check the calendar).
Mar 5th - Ok, so I added a complete time waster to the
site, totally unrelated to beer kickball... but it's a lot of fun! Click
here to play Air Hockey.
Mar 5th - Anyone who played in the Alumni vs. Undergrads
game, go ahead and post a summary, highlight, or
just a funny moment you remember from the game. No logging in or anything,
just post. With enough comments, hopefully we'll
get a decent game recount of the alumni domination... er, I mean two evenly
matched teams both showing outstanding effort and heart.
Mar 4th - Added a calendar to
the site with upcoming beer kickball games and other beer-related events.
If you use google calendar and want to add your own events, email us at
beerkickball@gmail.com and we'll give you access to post whatever upcoming
events or beer kickball games you want to organize (you can add the events
from your own google calendar).
Mar 1st - We just found out that our old stomping grounds (Peachtree
Hills Park) is undergoing field renovations until the summer, as are many
of the Atlanta parks. So we are now working on a finding a new location
for the games. We'll keep you posted.
Feb 28th - We are looking at having games this year on the
last Saturday of every month. This makes it very easy for everyone to remember.
The 1st game will be on March 31st. It seems like a long way off, but this
gives everyone more time to come up with costumes! Yes, costumes will be
optional (but encouraged) for the first game. So start coming up with costume
ideas!
Feb 27th - So instead of a regular message board this year, try
out this Magnetic Message Board. I
was playing around with it and thought why not put it on the beer kickball
site. Not many people used the old message board anyway, and this is more
fun!
Feb 22nd - Alright, the 2007 season is right around the corner!
We are working on nailing down the date of the 1st game... it's looking
like late March. Be sure to check back for updates!
